Legislative Priorities
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce strives to engage the area’s public and private sectors in a common goal of creating prosperity for our communities and our residents. We regularly work with elected officials on issues and programs that move our city and region forward.
With the help of our chartered working committees – Government Issues Committee and Business Conditions Council – we are able to position the Chamber as an effective and relevant partner and leader in community and policy development.
Each year, the Nashville Chamber frames an annual plan that addresses our key policy goals for the year. The plan for 2009-2010 includes a continuing focus on improving public education, fostering regional cooperation, advocating for funding of regional mass transit and supporting key initiatives that increase prosperity in the Nashville area.
As part of our efforts to facilitate community leadership, the Chamber also co-hosts an annual Leadership Study Mission with the Convention & Visitors Bureau during which community leaders travel to another city to study common issues and learn best practices for the Nashville area.

It's very easy to become engaged in Nashville. Nashville is an open community, and anyone can participate. They just have to volunteer.
