• How can I get a Nashville-area phone book?

  The Nashville Chamber does not supply local telephone directories. To order one, please call 800-682-4000 or go to www.yellowbook360.com/print and click on "Order a Directory" on the right-hand side of the page. If you need a quick reference, you can also check out the online Yellow Pages.

• Where can I get a Nashville city street map?

  The Chamber produces a detailed street map of Nashville annually. This large, up-to-date map covers the entire Nashville/Davidson County area, as well as some outlying suburbs such as Goodlettsville and Brentwood. Street names and zip codes are marked.   To request a copy of the Tennessee Department of Transportation's official Tennessee Transportation Map, please fill out their online order form.

• How can I verify the legitimacy of a company in the Nashville area?

  Membership in the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is open to any company, and does not imply our endorsement of the organization. To find out if a specific company is a member, please search our online member directory. If you are trying to determine the legitimacy of a Nashville-area business, please contact the Nashville/Davidson County Clerk's Office at 615-862-6050 to check if the company in question has a license to operate a business in Nashville. To check on whether any complaints have been filed about that business, please contact the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee  at 615-242-4222, and/or the State of Tennessee Department of Consumer Affairs at 615-741-4737.

• How can I file a complaint about a company in the Nashville area?

  The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is not a government or regulatory agency, and therefore has no authority to investigate how companies conduct business, nor are we able to accept complaints.   National Life and Accident Insurance Company is now called American General Life & Accident Insurance Company. You can reach their main Nashville office at 615-749-1000, or visit their website.

• What newspapers serve the Nashville area?

  Nashville's largest daily newspaper is called The Tennessean. You can reach them at 800-828-4237. The City Paper is a smaller free newspaper serving the Nashville area. You can contact them at 615-298-9833. Nashville Business Journal is a weekly newspaper focused on the Nashville-area business community. They can be reached at 615-248-2222.

• What are the laws about smoking in Nashville?

  The Tennessee Non-Smokers Protection Act, effective October 1, 2007, prohibits indoor smoking in most public places, including restaurants, hotels and many other establishments. One notable exception is venues that restrict entry to those 21 and older.

  
  

  The Nashville Downtown Partnership's semi-annual publication, The Guidebook, lists the smoking/non-smoking status of bars and restaurants in the downtown area. Please note the non-smoking symbol next to venues that prohibit smoking.
