• Committees, Councils and Special Opportunities

  By joining one of the Chamber’s many committees, councils and special groups, you can make your mark on the important issues that will shape our region's future prosperity.

  • 2012 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards Judges - Volunteer to serve as a judge in one of 14 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards industry categories.
  • Area Advisory Councils - Get involved in the work of the Chamber within the context of your own community. The Area Advisory Councils include Chamber North, Chamber South, Chamber East and Chamber West.
  • Charter Schools Support Network - Get the latest news and learn about opportunities to support quality Nashville charter schools in a variety of ways.
  • Education Report Card Committee - Volunteer to be a part of this diverse group that convenes regularly over a three- to four-month period to examine key issues facing the school system and prepare a written report presenting findings and recommendations.
  • Member Recruitment - Volunteer to help bring in new members by communicating the value of membership and engagement in the Chamber to other businesses.
  • Member Relations Committee - Contact top member investors to thank them for their investment and encourage them to become more involved with the Chamber.
    Participation is reserved for member investors at the Corporate level and above.
  • New Member Hosts - Welcome new members by participating as hosts at select events and ribbon-cuttings, and invite new members to get engaged in the work of the Chamber.
  • ONE NASHVILLE - Be a part of this initiative to increase community support of Metro Nashville Public Schools by volunteering, advocating or donating resources. Visit www.onenashville.org for more information.
  • Partnership 2020 Economic Development Committee - Provide oversight of Partnership 2020’s economic development strategies, including marketing, proactive lead generation and inbound and outbound trips.
    Participation is reserved for representatives of Partnership 2020 investor companies. Limit two representatives per investor firm.
  • Partnership 2020 Regional Showcase - Learn more about our regional economic development efforts through networking and panel discussions with key economic development staff from the 10 counties in the region’s economic market.
    Participation is reserved for representatives of Partnership 2020 investor companies. Limit two representatives per investor firm.
  • SuccessPAC - Help identify and endorse candidates for the Metro Nashville Board of Public Education through this political action committee.

• Communication Interest Areas

  You can choose to engage by signing up to receive regular communications from the Chamber via mail and e-mail about topics that are important to you.

  • Community Action - Receive invitations and information regarding legislative and community issues and events that impact Nashville-area businesses.
  • Education - Receive invitations and information about education-related events, engagement and advocacy opportunities.
  • Events - There are two event-specific email lists.
  • Business Growth and Development Events - Receive invitations to informative events and programs about growing your business.
  • Relationship-Building Events - Receive invitations and information relating to the Chamber’s networking events.
  • HR Notes - Receive a monthly e-newsletter focusing on the latest trends, tools and news in recruiting and retaining quality employees.
  • In Your Area - Receive quarterly updates from the Chamber’s four area-specific advisory councils on neighborhood issues affecting business and quality of life.
  • International Business Council Events and News - Receive a bimonthly e-newsletter about upcoming international business events and news in Middle Tennessee.
  • Monday Morning Report - Receive a weekly e-newsletter spotlighting Chamber events, programs and activities.
  • News from ONE NASHVILLE - Receive regular updates on the progress of the ONE NASHVILLE campaign to support Metro Public Schools.
  • Small Business Wire - Receive a biweekly e-newsletter that provides small business owners with practical information for growing a business.
  • YP Nashville Monthly - Receive a monthly e-newsletter about local issues pertaining to young professionals.
  
  

• Shared Interest Groups (SIGs)

  SIGs are comprised of Chamber members with similar interests who meet to discuss trends, challenges, ideas and thoughts.

  • International Business - Network with Chamber members involved or interested in international business activities.
  • Sales/Business Development Professionals - Discuss all aspects of sales, from prospecting to working a room, and from building a sales force to finding the next lead.
  • Interactive Media - Focus on the applications and uses of interactive media for small business owners, including social media, websites, sales automation, online user experience and silent retention.

• E-Newsletter Contributors

  Members are encouraged to contribute articles on topics of general interest for the e-newsletters listed below. Chamber staff will maintain a database of potential newsletter contributors, and we will refer to this list as needed.  
  
  

  • HR Notes - This newsletter is published monthly for human resources professionals.
  • Small Business Wire - This biweekly e-newsletter provides small business owners with practical information.
  • YP Nashville Monthly - This monthly publication targets Nashville's young professionals.
    

• Program Presenters

  Chamber members can volunteer to be potential speakers/presenters for the Chamber's educational programming. Chamber staff will maintain a database of potential presenters, and we will refer to this list as needed. Suggested workshop topics include business development, human resources, leadership, management/administration, marketing/new media, strategy and planning, and technology.

• Program/Event Hosts

  Chamber events meet in member locations throughout the year. Depending on the type of event, various numbers of attendees will need to be accommodated. Access to audio/visual equipment is preferred. Chamber staff will maintain a database of potential event hosts, and we will refer to this list as needed. 

• Sponsors

  Sponsorships can help qualified business decision makers make connections with their target market(s), meet objectives cost-effectively, and position their brand.
