A new
Kiplinger ranking recognized Music City as the No. 3 Best Value City for 2011. The
article from
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine homed in on the specific industries that have helped Nashville emerge strongly from the recession, putting it on track to create more than 151,000 jobs by 2019. Most of the job growth is expected to occur in the health care and education sectors, although the region will continue to benefit from a well-rounded economy with strong technology, manufacturing, entertainment and media industries.
But Middle Tennessee offers much more than a business-friendly environment. Nashville is home to a diverse immigrant population, affordable housing prices, and a flavorful culture—making it the ideal city for relocation. Mayor Karl Dean said it best when he told
Kiplinger, “People come to Nashville and just fall in love with it.”
With its diverse and resilient economy, our region has a lot to look forward to as we move into the coming decade. As we implement our Partnership 2020 plan over the next five years, the Chamber and our regional partners will look to capitalize on opportunities for job growth, creating continued prosperity throughout Middle Tennessee.
