ONE NASHVILLE Wraps Up 2011-2012 School Year

Though Metro's 2011-2012 school year is over, ONE NASHVILLE wants to keep the momentum going over the summer. More than 5,000 people have officially joined our campaign, and we have had more than 10,500 unique visits to our website. You can join our movement by volunteering, donating and advocating for Metro Nashville Public Schools.

School may be out for the summer, but the need for school volunteers continues year-round. Visit www.schoolvolunteers.org to learn how you can get involved, or contact a school in your neighborhood to ask how you can help.

Representatives from ONE NASHVILLE, along with our Endorsing Partner Yuri Cunza, president of the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, attended several 2012 high school graduations in support of the many students who are now preparing for college or careers. Please visit www.flickr.com/photos/mnps to enjoy pictures of various activities and events throughout Metro's school year.

We've partnered with PENCIL Foundation, Nashville Public Education Foundation, Stand for Children, the Mayor's Office and MNPS as the vehicles for the community to become engaged. ONE NASHVILLE has also welcomed more than 60 Endorsing Partners who have agreed to support our campaign by spreading the word to their audiences.

Even if you do not have a child enrolled in a Metro school, supporting the success of our public school students is crucial to Nashville's future. Today's students are tomorrow's workforce, and improving public education is the Chamber's number-one priority. Please visit www.onenashville.org to learn how you can get involved and support MNPS. Thank you!

Remember, the 2012-2013 school year begins Wednesday, Aug. 1.
