Tennessee Technological University
The campus of Tennessee Technological University is located in Cookeville, TN, a city of 28,000 located
80 miles east of Nashville and 100 miles west of Knoxville.
The university offers programs in the colleges of Agriculture and Human Ecology, Arts and Sciences,
Business Administration, Education, Engineering, and Nursing, offering Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's,
Specialist, and Doctorate degrees. The academic program historically has featured great strength in
engineering, scientific, and other professional fields, a tradition which continues with the university's
three interdisciplinary Accomplished Centers of Excellence in Electric Power, Manufacturing, and Water
Resources.
More than 8,200 students from each of Tennessee's 95 counties are enrolled here, along with students
from 41 other states and 45 countries. The Tennessee Higher Education Commission, in its
Tennessee Challenge 2000 report, listed the graduation rates of Tennessee Tech as first, once again,
among all the state's public institutions. Tennessee Tech has been recognized with many other honors
in areas such as Agriculture, Physics, Accounting, Engineering, Music, and Nursing.
