Nashville-Area Education Guide
The Nashville Area Chamber created this brochure to introduce you to our schools and help you choose the school that is the best fit for your family.

Middle Tennessee Higher Education Economic Impact Study
This Chamber-funded economic impact study says Middle Tennessee colleges and universities have a total economic impact of $5.5 billion.

Education Report Card Committee
This Chamber-convened committee issues an annual report on the progress of Metro Nashville Public Schools.

SuccessPAC
The Chamber's political action committee, SuccessPAC, was established in 1998 to identify, endorse and support highly qualified candidates for the Metro Board of Public Education.

Mayor's First Day Festival
The Chamber is a leading partner in this annual community celebration.

Mayor's First Day Festival

The Mayor's First Day Festival is held in August at the Sommet Center and features free activities for students and their parents. Business contributions and in-kind donations underwrite the costs of the event.

By encouraging member businesses to host activity booths or donate money in support of the event, and by hosting their own activity booth for students, the Nashville Area Chamber has been a leading participant in the festival since its inception. The Chamber's education department is partnering with Mayor Karl Dean's Office of Children and Youth to produce the ninth annual Mayor's First Day Festival.

The Festival to kick off the 2008-2009 school year will be Sunday, Aug. 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Sommet Center, 501 Broadway.

Businesses are invited to organize volunteer teams, present a booth or provide entertainment at the Festival to show support for Metro Nashville Public Schools.
