Support for existing businesses is a cornerstone of our Partnership 2020 regional economic development strategy because existing businesses are a significant source of job creation for our region and an essential ingredient to the vibrancy and continued growth of our city.
The effectiveness of this tactic was reinforced with last week's announcement that ServiceSource, the global leader in service revenue management, is expanding its Nashville sales center and regional headquarters. The expansion, which will create hundreds of new jobs, represents a multi-million-dollar investment over the next three years.
When industry-leading companies choose to relocate their businesses to Middle Tennessee, it's a testament to the strength of our region's and state's business environment and quality of life. ServiceSource -- which is headquartered in San Francisco and has several global offices -- opened its Nashville office in 2008 after a selection process that considered several U.S. cities. Since then, the company has experienced substantial growth and become an integral part of our downtown business landscape.
This expansion will add high-quality jobs in fields such as accounting, finance, information technology and sales, while helping build our educated workforce. ServiceSource's additional investment in Nashville and Middle Tennessee is further confirmation that the company will continue to grow and succeed as a member of our business community.
