SuccessPAC Endorses Five for Metropolitan Board of Education

SuccessPACSuccessPAC, a Nashville business community political action committee focused exclusively on school board elections, is endorsing both incumbents running in the two contested races and is also endorsing three first-time candidates, each of whom is unopposed. The SuccessPAC board interviewed all eight candidates who qualified for the August 5 ballot. In addition, all candidates submitted a completed SuccessPAC questionnaire.

SuccessPAC is endorsing:

  • District 2 (South Nashville, Antioch): Jo Ann Brannon
    Incumbent, running against 2 opponents
  • District 9 (West Nashville, Bellevue): Kay Simmons
    Incumbent, running against 1 opponent
  • District 4 (Donelson, Hermitage): Anna Shepherd
    First-time candidate, unopposed
  • District 6: (Antioch, Priest Lake): Cheryl Mayes
    First-time candidate, unopposed
  • District 8: (Green Hills, Forest Hills, Oak Hill): Michael Hayes
    First-time candidate, unopposed

SuccessPAC will be making campaign contributions to its endorsed candidates, with the exception of Kay Simmons and Michael Hayes, who are not accepting any contributions from political action committees.

Early voting runs July 16-31 (except Sundays), and Election Day is Thursday, August 5. A schedule and list of early voting sites is available at www.nashville.gov/vote.
