The Nashville region is a leader among U.S. metropolitan areas in supporting entrepreneurship. The city has been lauded for its nurturing environment for
tech start-ups, and Tennessee consistently ranks well for its
entrepreneur- and small business-friendly environment based on cost of doing business and policies that enable
competitiveness and growth.
The ability of Nashville’s self-employed residents to be nimble and innovative has been a major factor in the region consistently emerging more quickly and strongly from economic recessions since the 1970s. We know that these entrepreneurial businesses are essential to the continued economic prosperity of Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Entrepreneur Center have partnered to launch the inaugural
NEXT Awards, which recognize Middle Tennessee companies and entrepreneurs for the impact they have on our local economy.
The
NEXT Awards, to be held October 18, will honor the area’s most innovative entrepreneurs and businesses experiencing the most significant growth in terms of revenue and employment. Corporate and individual awards will be given.
By shining a spotlight on these entrepreneurs and their achievements, we applaud their work, bring recognition to the stellar creativity and innovation in our own backyard and raise the bar to attract more talent and capital investment.
These awards provide an opportunity to showcase one of the Nashville region’s most important assets – our creative, innovative, entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a characteristic that helps set us apart as a city, and we’re excited to see which companies and individuals exemplify what’s NEXT for Nashville.
