Nashville Area Chamber announces new hires, promotion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce three new hires and a promotion.

Judith Hill joins the Chamber's economic development department as director of existing business. In this role, her key responsibilities will include oversight of the existing business visitation program, providing hands-on support for existing businesses and engaging volunteer committees focused on strengthening existing businesses. Hill brings more than three years' experience as a jobs development specialist with the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Atmanand Jaikarran ("A.J.") joins the member services department of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce as member services data coordinator. In this role, his key responsibility will include management of member data. Jaikarran will also serve as general membership point of contact for verification of information in the internal database. Jaikarran brings more than 12 years of data analysis experience. His educational background includes degrees from the City University of New York and Mercy College. His work experience includes positions held as a data coordinator with Nashville CARES; statistician at the Tennessee Department of Health (TB Program); and executive director of the University Student Senate with City University of New York.

Rebecca Myers joins the Chamber's workforce department as director of workforce recruitment and retention. Myers will serve as the Chamber contact for NashvilleJobsLink.com. Her other responsibilities will include oversight of the college graduate retention program and HR Excellence Awards. Myers brings more than three years of training and recruitment experience. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Alabama, and most recently served as extension and colonization manager for the Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity.

Meghan Westbury, who began working as the Chamber's administrative assistant/front-desk receptionist in November 2006, has been promoted to member relations coordinator. In this role, her key responsibilities will include oversight of day-to-day execution of strategies and tactics that welcome, serve, involve, orient and renew Chamber members. She is a May 2006 graduate of Auburn University, with a bachelor's degree in mass communications. While at Auburn, she completed public relations and marketing internships with the Opelika (Ala.) Chamber of Commerce.
