Best Cities for White-Collar Job Growth

Forbes.com published a list of cities where white-collar job growth is climbing. Nashville is No. 4 on the list; business service employment has soared 41.4 percent here over the past five years. Much of this growth is tied to health services, entertainment and staffing services.

Hot Startup Cities

Entrepreneur magazine placed Nashville on its list of nine hot cities “where startup dreams come easier and cheaper, but can still pay off big.”

Best State for Auto Manufacturing, Tech Skills Training

Tennessee has been named the No. 1 state in the nation in both automotive manufacturing strength and tech skills training programs, according to the 11th annual rankings report published by Business Facilities magazine, a national economic development publication. In the report, Tennessee also received top accolades for business climate, infrastructure, workforce training and automotive employment.

Top Metro for Economic Growth Potential

The same Business Facilities report shows Nashville leading U.S. metros in economic growth potential. The listing cites Nashville’s geographical advantages, low cost of doing business and the strength of the health care industry.

Best Live Music Scene

In the latest America’s Favorite Cities survey, readers of Travel + Leisure magazine ranked 38 major metropolitan areas on a variety of factors. In the poll, Nashville was rated the best live music scene in the country.
