Rankings Propel Music City into 2016



The Hottest U.S. Cities for 2016

Nashville is on Business Insider's list of the hottest American cities for 2016. To compile this list, researchers looked at job growth, population growth, affordability, livability, and the health and well-being of each city's residents. They also considered each city's "coolness" factor.



Destination of the Year



Nashville was crowned "Destination of the Year" in Travel + Leisure magazine's annual Readers' Choice poll. Receiving 15.8 percent of the votes -- nearly double the amount received by the second-place destination, Charleston -- Music City topped the list of international and domestic locations among the magazine's readership.



Nashville a top city for businesses owned by women, millennials



Among large cities nationwide, Nashville has one of the highest rates of millennial and female entrepreneurs, according to research by the Kauffman Foundation.



2015 Best-Performing Cities



The Nashville MSA holds the 18th spot in the Milken Institute's 2015 "Best-Performing Cities" index, which ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth.
