Member Spotlight: Social Indoor of Nashville and Clarksville
What's the best thing about doing business in Middle Tennessee?
The business climate is awesome here in Nashville and the surrounding areas; there is always something new and exciting!
What has been the most valuable aspect of your Chamber membership?
The Chamber does a great job promoting member businesses and offering many opportunities to network with other professionals and business owners alike.
Who is Social Indoor of Nashville and what should we know about you?
Social Indoor Nashville is a franchise owned by 521 Media LLC which was formed by Doug Wilson and Thad Johannessohn, a result of combining their two local franchises. 521 Media recently acquired Graffiti Indoor Advertising, to bring a state-of-the-art indoor digital advertising product to Nashville area businesses along with an upgraded frame and print option, building on the incredible presence that Graffiti has established and maintained for decades. We’re confident local businesses will be drawn to the flexibility that indoor digital advertising can offer them.
What is unique about your business that makes you stand out?
Advertising in restrooms is unique! We install, manage, and maintain the digital boards at no cost to the venue. As we convert venues to digital, our advertisers will see the flexibility of the web based digital medium and our venue partners will have the benefits of free digital advertising.
What's your biggest goal for your company this year?
Making this a smooth transition for our employees, venue partners, and our advertisers. We also want to increase awareness of our product to new and established businesses entering the Nashville market.
What best business practices did you learn in 2020 during the pandemic and what did you do to be creative?
We were reminded of the power of personal relationships and the benefits of networking, and how businesses can help other businesses get through some tough times. During the height of the pandemic we did lots of creative online networking via Zoom!
What’s your best piece of advice for other business owners?
As a former wrestling coach, I love short motivational quotes, my favorite being: “You gotta wanna.”
How do you stay involved in the community?
As individual franchises, we worked hard at connecting with businesses by taking advantage of, and working with, area Chambers of Commerce and organized networking groups. We plan to continue with that even more; nothing beats being a proactive member of the business community.
