Shop Small in Nashville this Saturday!
This Saturday, November 26, is Small Business Saturday, an annual holiday that encourages holiday shoppers to shop at local businesses. It started as a campaign launched by American Express in 2010 to help small businesses gain exposure and inspire consumers to shop within their own communities during the holiday season.
Small businesses play an important part in our lives. Supporting our local businesses not only keeps those businesses alive, but keeps the communities they serve thriving. In fact, according to a study by American Express, around two thirds of every dollar spent in a small business stays in that community. In addition to helping fund our school systems and other organizations through taxes, small businesses often support local sports teams, charities, and events. Local retailers are even more likely to hire locally than retail chains. This year, The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce encourages you to get out and support our local small businesses in your neighborhood and throughout Middle Tennessee. Happy shopping!
If you're looking for another way to show how much you appreciate your hardworking neighbors, tag the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce @NashChamber and use the hashtag #ShopSmallNash for a chance to be featured on our Instagram page! Consider leaving a positive review and tagging friends and family as an easy way to support your favorite small business during the holiday season.
