What is Leadership Connect?

The Leadership Connect program is an exclusive opportunity for area small business owners to learn community and business leadership with Nashville's top leaders. Starting a business can be an all-consuming endeavor for an entrepreneur, leaving little time to build relationships in the community. This can pose particular challenges for entrepreneurs who have narrower networks or less access to the capital, expertise and connections needed to succeed and scale. 

Leadership Connect aims to help bring small business owners from all walks of life to the table and help them grow as leaders in the community.

What does being a part of Leadership Connect mean?

During this six month cohort, 10 small business owners who are chosen through a competitive process will meet with CEOs and community leaders each month to develop a deeper understanding of what is needed to move our region forward. They'll also gather as a peer group to share issues and challenges facing their own businesses.

The cohort will also join the Nashville Chamber's Leadership Study Mission delegation to Seattle in March 2018. Leadership Study Mission is a launchpad for tackling issues facing the Middle Tennessee community and business leaders in the near- and long-term by traveling as a group to another U.S. city to examine best practices and lessons learned.

How does it work?

To qualify, applicants must be a majority owner in an established small business open for at least 2 years. Businesses must be located in the Middle Tennessee area.

Overall, you will be required to provide examples of your business and community leadership in addition to identifying specific community challenges you intend to address in the future.

This opportunity is open to members and future members. Pricing for members is $950 while future members will pay $1,650.

  • Cohort begins October 2017
  • Leadership Study Mission trip - March 2018
  • Cohort concludes in May 2018
