Leadership Public Education is a 6-month public education leadership development program that empowers individuals with the knowledge and skills to serve in community leadership roles at all levels of Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS).

Leadership Public Education Class of 2024 Application

Application for the Leadership Public Education 2024 cohort is closed.

 Participants, known as fellows, will develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) and acquire the skills and knowledge to serve in elected, appointed, and volunteer community leadership positions.  

Acceptance into the program is based on a subjective assessment of the information each applicant provides in this application.

Applicant’s Statement of Commitment:

In partnership with the Nashville Public Education Foundation, LPE is a 6-month public education leadership development program with the sessions designed to be participatory in nature and focused on learning the context, operations, and external factors of MNPS, not a single solution by the topic of each class session. In order to get the most out of the program and to fulfill the mission of LPE, it is necessary that participants be engaged in the program. A participant with more than two absences will not be able to graduate with the cohort. Any absences must be communicated in advance.

    • June 21
    • July 19

Classes are held in person from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. one Friday per month from February through July. In-person or virtual available as instructed by public health guidelines.

Fellows, who complete the requirements, will receive a certificate of completion at the end of LPE.
