Position Description / Responsibilities
The Tennessee Department of General Services is responsible for providing goods and services to the State government of Tennessee. Its primary customers are other State departments and agencies. It also serves vendors wishing to do business with the State, and citizens and organizations interested in purchasing surplus State and federal property. The Department’s services include centralized procurement for State departments; management of the State’s real estate assets; motor vehicle and equipment management; printing, media, and photographic services; postal services; warehousing and distribution; State employee parking, badging, and shuttle services; and assistance to small businesses and businesses owned by minorities, women, and veterans. The Document Solutions Division is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Director. This position is responsible for effectively managing our Print Production Area, which includes commercial print (digital and offset), full bindery and document scanning. An employee in this class coordinates work projects and scheduling necessary to meet on-time delivery and turnaround goals.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises 20+ employees, including scheduling, coaching and doing performance evaluations.
Schedules and monitors workflow to ensure all jobs are completed to meet customer deadlines.
Oversees operation of digital and offset press areas.
Oversees operation of full bindery.
Oversees document scanning area.
Works closely with customer service, graphics and postal areas to coordiante special projects.
Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
Five years of experience within the printing industry.
Three years of supervisory experience.
Superior organization and problem solving skills.
