(Executive Service) – Integrated Data System and Business Intelligence Implementation Support
Position Description: The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) is currently recruiting a Clinical Application Coordinator (CAC) 2 position to support the implementation of TDH’s Integrated Data System and associated business intelligence as a part of the Office of Informatics and Analytics (OIA). This position will directly support OIA’s data warehouse lead in the enhancement and maintenance of the Integrated Data System and development of associated documentation. Specifically, this position will bring expertise to the TDH team in addressing the prescription drug overdose epidemic by supporting the development of a program to proactively identify patients and providers engaging in high risk behaviors through the design and implementation of an entity management/linkage methodology. Additionally, this position will be responsible for programming and implementing business intelligence solutions based on defined requirements from public health program areas.
This position will work closely with other members of OIA including the informatics, advanced analytics, data governance, and communications teams, as well as with various TDH divisions and programs, including the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD).

As a member of the Office of Informatics and Analytics, this individual will get exposure to and experience in the use and development of interoperability standards, like Health Level 7 (HL7), and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of informatics projects including: system integration and interoperability, electronic health record implementation, organizational data governance, and specific public health reporting projects like electronic case reporting and opioid drug overdose reporting.
With this position, there is the potential for presentation and public speaking opportunities. Informatics staff will assist with emergency response situations when necessary.
Salary will be based on education and experience with a minimum starting rate of $5,482 per month.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) Server 2012 or later.
Skills: Stored procedure development and optimization, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) development, and complex query development utilizing multiple large data sources using SQL 2012 or later. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Experience in Tableau programming and implementation, experience programming in other languages, preferably C# or python, experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), experience using R, experience in electronic data interchange, and experience in Healthcare and Informatics preferred.
