Crisis Care Consultant II
Position Description / Responsibilities
Summary of Job:
Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Program Coordinator of TLC Connect and TARGET, the Crisis Care Consultant II is responsible for providing enhanced follow-up services to individuals who have recently experienced a suicide crisis. Services provided include telephonic and face-to-face clinical screenings and risk assessments, development of a crisis management plan, and provision of appropriate service linkage. The Crisis Care Consultant II will routinely assess and determine the level of risk associated with each contact, providing clinically appropriate interventions to help the individual resolve the crisis in the least restrictive manner possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Demonstrates high level of clinical knowledge and skill in providing face-to-face, telephonic, e-mail, or chat clinical screenings, risk assessments, and crisis intervention to callers.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively and efficiently obtain all information (i.e. demographics and clinical information) for accurate documentation in the electronic database.
Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditations.
Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette.
Demonstrates knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
Promotes a departmental culture of cooperation and collaboration with other cross-functional departments, community agencies, hospitals, mental health consumers, and the public at large.
Attends team meetings, in-service training, supervision, and other quality assurance training.
Provides clinical coverage for the Crisis Care Services department beyond scheduled work hours/shift as needed and as assigned by supervisors.
Assists in administrative tasks as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
All other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree and/or professional license in a related field of counseling, psychology, or social work preferred.
1-3 years experience as a Mental Health Counselor providing clinical screenings, crisis intervention services, or conducting clinical intake assessments.
