Position Description / Responsibilities

The Development Manager assists the Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Development in the creation of the agency’s annual fundraising plan, leads implementation of special events, provides support to annual fund drives and manages a portfolio of current and prospective mid-level donors. This role works to build the organization’s long-term fundraising capacity in order to meet its evolving need for private support through the development of monthly giving, corporate giving, and planned giving programs. This position is vital to the collaboration, development, and implementation of new strategies to retain donors, bolster existing donors and engage new prospects. The Development Manager supports the Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Development with data management, acknowledgments, gift entry, budgets, board reporting, etc. Additional job duties include development of fundraising campaigns, including website updates, donor correspondence, direct mail list, email solicitations, and digital campaigns. This position is funded in part by, and in collaboration with, one or more grants. Personnel must adhere to goals and outcomes detailed in the grant contract. This position is funded for the duration of the grant(s) and subsequent renewal may result in modification of job duties and responsibilities.
