The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet these established criteria are necessary for successful job performance. While the pace of the work is faster than average, quality is never compromised with the quantity of work. The focus of communication and organizational relationships is based on technical expertise. The work requires specialized technical problem-solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology, and the demonstration of the values of integrity, quality, and caution. The position encompasses a defined span of control and opportunity for someone who engenders trust, demonstrates a sense of urgency, and assures consistent achievement of quality standards. The work requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the quality of all events
Executes tastings for individuals and groups
Train and manage all kitchen personnel, and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
Improve culinary operational efficiency
Responsible for all costs associated with food costs
Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
Select and develop recipes; standardize production recipes with the presentation to ensure consistent quality and cost goals
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen and proper equipment operation/maintenance
Ensure A-Rating regulations in the Health Department or any other comparable inspections
Source new products and vendors as needed
Networking and appearances are required
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum of (4) years of Professional Culinary experience
Minimum of (2) years Management capacity in Chef or Sous Chef capacity
Understanding of the catering industry
Flexible schedule which will include evenings and weekends
