Position Description / Responsibilities

The City of Gallatin, TN, a growing, well-established city of more than 30,000, located 25 miles northeast of Nashville, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Stormwater Utility Manager in the Engineering Department. The purpose of this position is to perform professional work in the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of a variety of public facilities while assisting the City Engineer in complex administrative support to the City Council. Starting salary is 68,099.20 with excellent benefits.

Reporting to the City Engineer, the Stormwater Utility Manager is also responsible for preparing expenditures of the Stormwater Utility budget, coordinating the billing for Stormwater Utility customers with the Gallatin Public Utilities Department, and verifying the accuracy of design calculations submitted by engineers for development projects. Performs related tasks as required.


Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, and/or Water related field, with eight (8) years recent professional work experience in stormwater related fields, and two (2) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position. Must also have a valid Driver’s License.

Professional Engineer (PE) Licensing. TDEC Level 1 and 2 certifications, or the ability to obtain these certifications, is preferred. Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or APWA: Certified Stormwater Manager (CSM) certifications, or the ability to obtain these certifications, is preferred.
