Position Description / Responsibilities
Nashville Connector, a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program administered by the Transportation Division of the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Department, seeks an Outreach Coordinator. The Outreach Coordinator will support Nashville Connector work activities by expanding partnerships with regional stakeholders, employers, and commuters in accomplishing the program’s goals of reducing single occupancy vehicle trips. The Outreach Coordinator will develop working relationships with employers and businesses, assess their potential opportunities for TDM, and market strategies for implementation. Examples of work activities include promoting regional commuting options at corporate job fairs, connecting a large employer’s human resources staff to transit passes, coordinating a bike rack installation at a business, or preparing a capture analysis map based on employee addresses. The Outreach Coordinator responsibilities also include working with the Planning Department’s Land Development Division staff to review development proposals and provide TDM recommendations. This includes assisting developers of large projects in preparing a customized strategy to reduce single occupancy vehicle dependence.
Master’s degree in geography, transportation planning, land use planning, marketing, economics, or a
relevant field from an accredited college or university and one (1) or more years of experience or a
bachelor’s degree and four (4) or more years of experience in related field required.
