Position Description / Responsibilities
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture is seeking applicants for the position of Veterinarian Diagnostic Laboratory Director for the Kord Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory, in Nashville, Tennessee. The laboratory is fully accredited by the AAVLD and is a member laboratory of the NAHLN, NPIP, and VetLIRN. The laboratory director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory and will lead a dedicated team of professionals and paraprofessionals to ensure provision of the highest quality laboratory services to Tennessee’s public and industry stakeholders. The laboratory provides a wide range of services including pathology, immunology, serology, molecular diagnostics, bacteriology, and toxicology. Nashville is located in beautiful middle Tennessee, and offers world class music venues and entertainment, professional sports, and excellent outdoor recreation opportunities.
· A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited college of veterinary medicine
· An advanced degree in relevant field of study
· 5 years veterinary diagnostic laboratory or relevant work experience
· 5 years directing/supervising experience.
