Position Description / Responsibilities

Summary: Under general supervision, is responsible for professional vocational rehabilitation employment services of average difficulty; and performs related work as required.

Distinguishing Features: An employee in this class serves as a consultant to business and industry regarding services related to employment and to Vocational Rehabilitation staff, local job coaches/placement specialists, community rehabilitation programs, and educational systems. The consultant’s goal is to increase customer knowledge of employer needs and labor market trends and to develop business relationships with business and industry, foster collaboration and enhance local expertise for career guidance, and provides customers assistance in the acquisition of successful employment in the competitive labor market.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree and one year of full-time professional-level experience in social work, counseling, education, human resources management, nursing, or full-time rehabilitation experience involved in providing job placement services for persons with disabilities.

OR

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree and one year of full-time professional-level experience in sales or marketing.
