2020 Music Industry Story Map

This interactive map showcases the over 200 live music venues in Nashville and allows you to filter by type of venue, genre, capacity and different standing events. This map also highlights the importance of independent venues to the Nashville music scene and how they have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vital Signs Survey Interactive Dashboard

This interactive dashboard gives residents, developers, policymakers, and stakeholders of Nashville an in-depth view on how residents see and understand several topics, including the economy, workforce development, transportation, housing, infrastructure, healthcare, and education. The 2020 Vital Signs Dashboard is filled with interactive tables, charts, and maps that encourage users to explore the data and what it means in the context of Nashville. Data tables are also fully downloadable for further independent analysis.

2019 Vital Signs Data Portal

Welcome to the Vital Signs 2019 Data Portal! Vital Signs is an annual project conducted by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Nashville Regional Council that provides insights on prominent issues affecting the Middle Tennessee Region. Find the 2019 report here.

The pages below are visualizations of various topics relevant to the Vital Signs 2019 Report including: Demographics, Employment & Workforce, Labor Force Participation, Income & Earnings, Healthcare & Benefits, Housing, Mobility, Transportation, and Quality of Life. Note that labor statistics and other data reflects the Middle Tennessee region before COVID-19. For current unemployment data for the region, go to nashvillechamber.com to the Research Center to see the most recent projections regarding the economic impact of COVID-19.

The sources utilized in the below pages include: the 2014-2018 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates, the Vital Signs 2019 Survey, the 2019 US Census Bureau Population and Housing Estimates, the UTK Boyd Center, the Bureau of Economic Analysis per capita personal income estimates, the Center for Neighborhood Technology All-Transit Tool and Driving Cost Estimates, the 2017 Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics, as well as cost-of-living estimates from Economic Modeling Specialists, Inc. (EMSI)
