Tell us about yourself.
I first moved to the Nashville area 3 years ago. I joined the team at Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations, excited to be a part of a company that puts people first and works to make a difference in the world. A year after beginning work, I was given the opportunity to head up B2B relationships for Dynamic here in Nashville, giving me the chance to help our community by securing the data in their retired IT assets and help our environment by keeping vital resources out of landfills.

I am fortunate not only to be employed by an organization that is trying to better the world with Dynamic but also to participate in the community as a small business owner with my own company, Obsessive Coffee Disorder. I have a passion for nature and the preservation of the beauty around us as well as a deep desire to help support the mental health organizations that help people build the tools within themselves to give them the ability to live happy and productive lives.

Tell us about your business/industry?
Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations is a full-service electronics and materials lifecycle management corporation specializing in IT asset disposition (ITAD), data security, electronics recycling & resale, and materials recovery. We work with some of the largest Fortune 1000 companies, providing them with unparalleled customer service and industry-leading ROI while safeguarding sensitive data and protecting the environment from e-waste and other pollutants.

The IT asset disposition industry handles the disposition of retired IT assets. ITAD providers collect outdated IT assets, including computers, networking equipment, and data storage devices, for reuse or recycling. These assets go through a certified data destruction process to ensure complete security for the business they originated from. After this, assets are either refurbished & resold or recycled in an environmentally responsible way.

Founded in 2007 with locations in Onalaska, WI, and Nashville, TN, Dynamic is guided by our purpose to protect the planet and our customers’ interests by giving electronics their next best life. Our recent move to a larger facility allows them to better serve their customers in the Nashville area.

What should we know about you?
I have a deep desire to leave the world a better place than I found it in whatever ways I can. Through my career at Dynamic, I get to help keep our environment safe with sustainability efforts. With my own small business, I support mental health non-profits in their efforts to help people build the tools they need to live happy and productive lives.

How did you get to your current position?
Through working hard in operations, putting my ideas forward, and engaging in leadership programs within our company, I was given the chance to head up our B2B relationships in Middle Tennessee.

What value do you see in Chamber involvement?
Being part of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce gives me the opportunity to meet incredible and motivated peers in Nashville and be well informed of what’s going on in the region. I enjoy knowing where we are heading culturally and being part of what makes Middle Tennessee a great place. Being involved in networking and cultural events has also allowed me to be part of the growing sustainability movement that will continue to benefit the beautiful state of Tennessee. This is important to me on a personal and professional level.

How is your company recruiting and retaining talent?
Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations is proud to be certified a Great Place to Work for eight consecutive years, and I believe we got to this point through our solid “people first” mindset. We begin with strong company values rooted in accountability, helping each other, and encouraging growth. Leading with this, we are able to build a group of team members that care about our purpose and care about each other, which creates a culture that prospective employees immediately engage with. This is grown through our strong belief in our purpose & mission, which encourages our employees to refer people with similar goals and values.

To retain, we allow our team members to flourish both at work and in their personal lives. At work, committees like our Green Team, Professional Development Board, and Fun Squad empower our people to improve their workplace and the community they live in. By following our mission and striving together to protect people and the environment by giving electronics their next best life, we are able to keep people engaged and passionate and make Dynamic more than just work.

How do you stay engaged in the community?
Community engagement is not only a personal value of mine but also a company value. At Dynamic we strive to serve with love, and that extends both to other team members within our company and to our community in Nashville. As an environmentally minded company, we have participated in multiple river cleanups in the area, ensuring a renewable resource for the people around us. We also strive to donate as much as we can to local food pantries, which exemplifies our team members sharing with those around them. We work with local groups to provide better opportunities.

One of these opportunities is our partnership with Electronics Recycling Solutions in Gallatin (ERS). ERS creates employment for adults with autism and other disabilities while simultaneously offering an ethical solution to electronics waste management. We are proud to work as a downstream vendor, sharing in their mission of impacting the environmental landscape of our community. Dynamic works closely, taking on recyclable material from them to properly dispose of, as well as working with them to help reusable electronics find their next best life.

How would you describe the Nashville healthcare community?
Dedicated. In a word, this exemplifies how the healthcare community commits itself to care and quality in the Nashville area. They have had immense challenges to overcome, especially in the past few years, and they remain dedicated to providing the best in every category.

As an ITAD solutions provider, I work hand in hand with our healthcare professionals in the technology space. They have an unwavering commitment to data security, protecting their patients’ data to the highest level. By taking that much care in guarding sensitive information, they separate themselves and show the level to which they are dedicated to providing the best experience, even in a place where a patient might never know they are at risk.

In addition, they strive to achieve the highest ESG goals, making them not just a local but also a global asset. Ensuring their equipment is taken care of in an environmentally responsible way protects the community around them and the communities around the world.

What do you like to do in your spare time outside of work? Where will we find you on the weekends?
I am a lifelong coffee lover! Most nights and weekends you can find me creating new roasts or roasting coffee for customers, both wholesale and retail. I have been drinking coffee since I was 4 years old; it has been a staple in my life and has transformed into not only a viable business for me but also an artistic outlet since I started roasting coffee. It makes me feel great knowing somewhere right now my creation is sparking up conversations, helping build relationships of all kinds, and being part of our local culture. I get to put my art out into the world, and so many people get to enjoy it and have it become part of their lives!
