Templeton Academy is seeking a full-time teacher who is excited for the opportunity to teach one section of middle school science and two sections of high school science in a project-based learning environment. This teacher will also teach one section of a middle school Enrichment class consisting of at least four distinct elective units (arts, sciences, humanities, etc.). Hours are 8 am – 4 pm M-F, with a teaching load of 4-5 hours per day. This teacher will also serve as a faculty advisor for a group of 8-12 students and have recurring responsibilities to oversee student community spaces, teach a special-interest workshop, and/or monitor a student-run club. Teachers are also expected to attend and participate fully in all training, including in the summer. Occasional after-school events for admissions or student programming are required.
Templeton Academy teachers are revolutionizing the way Students learn by mentoring the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to thrive in college, career, and life. We do this through a Core Advisory program that addresses the whole student, Project-Based Learning so students can utilize voice and choice, and Fieldwork, in which students use the city as a classroom a minimum of once a week, preferably more. Please note that as a private school, teachers do not have to have state certification, although teaching experience is preferred.
