Incentives
Incentives for a relocation or expansion project in the region come from three sources: the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Valley Authority, and the local community. The evaluation process is based on a variety of economic factors including capital investment, new jobs created, wages, etc. A qualified business that creates at least 25 net, new jobs and invests at least $500,000 in a 36 month period may qualify for an incentive package. Based on the project, the incentives could include job tax credits, infrastructure/training assistance, energy credits, low cost loans and grants, tax abatement (PILOT) or others.

Middle Tennessee is centrally located, allowing businesses to reach U.S. and international locations with ease and affordability. Half of the U.S. population lives within 650 miles of Nashville and 12 million people live within a 2.5 hour drive. The area is a transportation hub with excellent air, rail, and road access and is one of only 6 U.S. cities where three major interstates converge.

- The 440 Parkway, Downtown Loop, and Briley Parkway link the urbanized areas; Route 840 connects four counties in an outer loop

- CSX Transportation has two major rail yards in Nashville, as well as an Intermodal terminal, TDSI automatic distribution terminal, and TRANSFLO terminal. Nashville is CSX’s division headquarters.

Electricity
Electric power for the Nashville region is provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority and local distributors. TVA is the nation’s largest government-owned power provider, supplying energy needs to approximately 10 million people throughout Tennessee and six other southeastern states.
TVA power is one of the most efficient and reliable systems in the country, offering numerous advantages to businesses and industry. Since 2000, TVA’s transmission system has achieved 99.999 percent reliability every year, and TVA ranked as the 3rd largest electricity generator in the nation in 2020 based on total electric generation.
