Employer Talent Pipelines

The Chamber is here to support your business’s workforce and talent pipeline needs.

Employee Retention & Recruitment

The Chamber supports many innovative and aggressive local programs to recruit workers to the Nashville area, and is committed to maintaining the talented workforce of our region.

Workforce Data

In January 2021, the Chamber released the 2020 Middle Tennessee Workforce Study, sponsored by the Northern Middle TN Workforce Board. The study highlights strengths and opportunities within the Nashville and Clarksville Metropolitan Statistical Areas’ economic and labor force landscapes and helps identify high-wage, high-demand career pathways.

Workforce Advocacy

National Skills Coalition awarded grant funds to build a statewide coalition to create Tennessee chapters of Business Leaders United (BLU) and SkillSPAN. Now under one umbrella, this group includes more than 80 chambers, employers, community-based organizations, and state and metro agencies working to address policy barriers that keep employers from filling middle skills jobs, jobs that require some education beyond high school.

The Clean Slate program is part of the Chamber’s policy work with BLU and SkillSPAN. The program launched in January 2021 at Nashville State Community College and is designed to re-engage students with a past due balance and move them to completion of a degree or credential. This program is funded by a grant from the Memorial Foundation, as current state law does not allow schools to forgive a past due balance.
