Nashville Area Chamber Launches Partnership 2030: A Regional Strategy for Community Vitality, Mobility, and Character

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 17, 2025) – The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce today launched the next five-year iteration of Partnership 2030—a public-private economic development strategy supported by more than 260 investors to drive Middle Tennessee’s continued economic prosperity and livability. The 2026-2031 phase of the strategy is anchored by three community-centered drivers: vitality, mobility, and character.

First initiated in 1990, these distinct five-year strategies of Partnership 2030 are aimed to mobilize business, civic, and community leaders to address the region’s most pressing challenges—together. Built on a vision of regional collaboration and collective impact, the campaign is guided by the theme “United We Create.”

Partnership 2030 represents what’s possible when cities, counties, and businesses unite around shared priorities,” said Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Mayor Freddie O’Connell. “Metro is pleased to stand alongside our business and civic partners in advancing a connected, equitable, and forward-thinking region.”

“This strategy is an excellent reflection of what our region’s business and civic leaders do best—collaborate,” said Stephanie Coleman, President and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Partnership 2030 builds on a legacy of impressive results while setting bold goals for the future. It’s a reminder that when we align vision with action, we can drive economic growth, expand opportunity, and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of our region.”

Partnership 2030 offers investors an opportunity to help shape the direction of Middle Tennessee’s economy at a critical moment,” said Carol Yochem, co-chair of Partnership 2030 and President, First Horizon Bank, Central Region. “It’s more than a funding commitment—it’s a chance to join a coalition of business leaders working to create long-term value, drive regional competitiveness, and ensure our communities remain vibrant and connected.”

Following a year-long period of research and community input, Partnership 2030 engaged business, community, and economic development leaders across the region. The new strategy focuses on three interconnected strategic drivers: community vitality, community mobility, and community character.

To strengthen our Community Vitality, Partnership 2030 will focus on embracing our future as a leading technology hub and making housing more affordable. Community Mobility means making good jobs accessible to more people through education and workforce solutions and on improving regional mobility and connectivity. To preserve and enhance our Community Character, it’s critical to remain good stewards of the region’s culture, advance the growth of the creative class, and maintain the vibrancy of the region’s urban core.

Partnership 2030 remains a united regional effort. The strategy is co-chaired by First Horizon Bank Central Region President Carol Yochem and Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Mayor Freddie O’Connell, with support from more than 260 investors spanning the 10-county region.

The Nashville Area Chamber is dedicated to producing results that matter. Since the original Partnership launched in 1990:

  • 560,000+ new jobs created
  • 3,000+ business expansions or relocations
  • 327% increase in per capita income
  • 96% increase in regional population growth

Partnership 2030 is more than a strategic plan—it’s a bold commitment to shaping the future of our shared region.
