BIRMINGHAM – George Bell, President and CEO of Office Resources, Inc. (www.oriusa.com), based in Louisville, Kentucky, authorized Steelcase Dealer and recognized Premier Partner, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire the Birmingham location of Empire Office, Inc., establishing its local presence in Birmingham. The transaction closed on October 20, 2023, at which point, ORI assumed all responsibilities as the official Steelcase dealer in Birmingham.

Office Resources, Inc. (ORI) is a privately held Kentucky Corporation, renowned as the largest provider of high-performance work environments in Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee; and Huntsville, Alabama, with a strong presence in corporate, education, government, and healthcare sectors. ORI has been named a Premier Partner multiple times and recently at the Platinum Level, an honor awarded to a few select Authorized Steelcase dealers in the United States. With a dedicated team of over a hundred professionals, ORI excels in sales, design, order management, project management, delivery & installation, and finance.

This acquisition will enable ORI to provide clients with enhanced architectural and technology solutions, offering the most comprehensive range of contract furniture and services across Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

“As we venture into the future, our focus remains clear: to empower our customers in the ever-evolving landscape of work. We’re committed to providing solutions that not only address the complexities of today but also inspire innovation, nurture talent retention, and foster vibrant organizational cultures,” stated Bell.

‚”This decision is part of our ongoing effort to concentrate and invest more deeply in our core markets, ensuring that we can provide the highest level of service and innovation to Empire’s valued clients and design firm partners,” stated Peter Gaslow, Empire Office, President & CEO.

Building upon ORI’s successful entry into Nashville in 2018 and Huntsville in 2021, where ORI has established a robust presence and consistently delivers transformative environments to clients, ORI looks forward to continuing its commitment to excellent and best-in-class service and products in Birmingham.

The remaining locations and operations of Empire Office outside of Birmingham will be unaffected by this acquisition.
