The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that Ben Simpson, vice president of state policy, has been promoted to chief policy officer.
The chief policy officer for the Nashville Area Chamber is responsible for Chamber policy initiatives for the 10-county region at the state, regional and local levels.
“Ben’s background and achievements throughout his career prepare him well as a member of the senior management team as well as chief policy officer for the Chamber,” said Ralph Schulz, president, and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
“As a sixteen-year veteran working in and around government in our region, I know that there is no better place to live and experience prosperity than Nashville,” Ben Simpson said. “I’m excited to continue the Chamber’s Partnership 2030 work with our regional, state, and local partners. Policy is how we set priorities for our community’s future, and no region in the country has a better recipe for success than ours. My job is to collaborate with our partners to maintain this upward trajectory.”
Ben has been working in the Nashville region in government relations and policy since 2004. He joined the Chamber in 2021. Ben previously worked with the Tennessee Department of Treasury, the Tennessee Department of Health, and most recently as the Director of Government Affairs and Assistant General Counsel of the Tennessee Medical Association. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of the Tennessee Lobbyist Association and a member of Crosspoint Church. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the Nashville School of Law.
