Can you share a significant lesson you have learned as a business leader?
The most significant lesson that has presented itself as a business leader is to remember that you’re dealing with people, not just businesses. While an item could appear trivial to other providers of gift cards and loyalty, we understand that it could be of extreme importance, and cause a great deal of stress to the person requesting our assistance. A business is often something that the owner has worked their whole life toward and means the world to them, and therefore it means the world to us that they trust us to support them in making it the best that it can possibly be.
How do you manage and maintain a positive company culture?
Factor4 makes sure that we always get our employees involved, make sure that we do things to unwind, and celebrate all the significant milestones that we can.
All employees get an abundance of awesome Factor4 merchandise provided to them, whether it be some gear for the golf course or luggage to bring on your upcoming trips, we make sure our people have it!
On holidays or other days of significance, we make sure we take the opportunity to celebrate. Most recently, we brought out a food truck to celebrate flag day and had a putting competition to celebrate the Masters. When a team member has a notable milestone, we’re sure to celebrate that too; we recently had a joint baby shower for two team members that are now spending time with their little ones on maternity leave.
Are there new markets or demographics you are targeting?
A current goal of Factor4 is outreach for merchant level salespeople. Gift cards are a massive value addition to these people’s portfolio, and we’re here to make that process simple for them. Our process allows them to remain focused on their goals, while we do all the heavy lifting to support them in the background.
