The February Intro Nashville class kicked off their orientation with networking and an icebreaker with Deb Varallo, Varallo Public Relations. Deb created a positive and engaging atmosphere for the participants, who got a sneak peek into what they will be learning over the next two weeks.

Our February Intro Nashville Class kicked off Day 2 with an exploration of the city’s vibrant spirit, aptly titled “It City.” The day commenced at Bungalow10, where participants were able to immerse themselves in insightful discussions about Music & Entertainment (Randy Goodman/Sony Music), as well as Hospitality & Tourism (Monchiere Holmes-Jones/MOJO Marketing PR LLC and Adrienne Siemers/Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp.).

Later that day, the group relocated to the 1221 Building on Broadway, soon to be rebranded as the “First Bank” building. Against the backdrop of a skyscraper view, Joe Woolley moderated as attendees dove into enriching conversations around the Finance Industry (Rob McCabe/Pinnacle Financial Partners) and Economic Development (Nick Cunningham/TVA & Carlie Vowell/NACC). Ralph Shulz, CEO of The Chamber, joined the session and actively engaged with participants, sharing valuable insights.

On the third day of Intro Nashville moderated by Tim Ozgener, the journey continued at HASTINGS Architecture, diving into discussions on Education, Finding Talent (Eric Higgs, Susannah Berry, Daryl Curry) and Workforce Development (Frank Bouyer & Jeff Haithcoat) followed by insights into State, Regional, and Metro Government (John Ray Clemmons, Ken Moore, Jennifer Gamble & Benjamin Simpson). Our class wrapped up the day at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, where they engaged in an informative session on Public Service and Safety (Commander Carlos Lara) accompanied by an enlightening Entrepreneurial Innovation Update (Sam Davidson).

The fourth and final day of February Intro Nashville unfolded at the National Museum of African American Music, where the group relished in the flavors of Princes Hot Chicken. Steering the discussions for the day was our Moderator, David Steele Ewing, who commenced the Sports panel (George Plaster) and delved into topics of Volunteerism and Community Involvement (Lori Shinton). As the day drew to a close, we found ourselves on the lively Broadway at Redneck Riviera Nashville participating in enlightening conversations about Culinary Arts (Jill Melton and Robert Higgins Jr.) and the city’s Cultural Diversity (Andre Churchwell) grand finale took place at a closing reception, featuring insights from Howard Gentry, Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk. Heartfelt appreciation extends to all participants, storytellers, moderators and sponsors who contributed to this experience.
