Director of Talent Pipelines

Position Description / Responsibilities

Under supervision of the VP, Education and Talent Development, this position has day-to-day responsibility for the development and implementation of initiatives that create greater collaboration between the region’s employers and training/education providers to better align the skills, credentials and degrees needed in the workforce. This includes building direct talent pipelines by creating career pathway partnerships between secondary and postsecondary institutions and regional employers to guide graduating high schoolers and adults into programs that prepare them for high-growth, high-demand career fields. This position’s primary responsibilities include leadership of the Talent Solutions Council and Talent Pipeline Management System (TPM) across multiple sector-based collaboratives. This position also supports efforts to connect organizations serving unique talent pools with employers who are interested in expanding their talent pipelines.

  • Serves as staff lead for Talent Solutions Council. The Talent Solutions Council assists the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) to achieve its stated purpose in the areas of education and talent development. The Council is comprised of HR/talent development decision-makers from employers in key industries solving common HR challenges using strategies such as the Talent Pipeline Management supply chain framework
  • Utilizes Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) framework and strategies to align postsecondary education and training to employer needs in key sectors
  • Facilitates development of workforce strategies and initiatives in collaboration with Chamber leadership in alignment with P3030 strategic plan
  • Facilitates connection of employers in multiple sectors with secondary, postsecondary, apprenticeship, and community partner engagement opportunities, leading to better connection between employers, education, and workforce; includes connecting members with volunteer opportunities across initiatives
  • Facilitates programming of quarterly Talent Solution Forums and coordinates with Member Value team for logistics
  • Serves as staff support for the Chamber’s work around Veterans and military transitions, including leadership visits to Fort Campbell as well as additional meetings and special events
  • Serves as a member of the Chamber backbone team for the New Skills Ready (NSR) grant; provides staff support for designated NSR work team
  • Seeks funding opportunities, writes grants for specified projects and completes grant reporting requirements as requested
  • Participate in the Chamber’s overall revenue culture through pre-determined revenue accountabilities that align to the work of the Talent Development team
  • Supports the initiatives of the Talent Development Team, Nashville Talent Hub, Nashville Reconnect, and Chamber as requested

 

Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, social science, education, HR/employee development, policy or business preferred; master’s degree a plus
  • Five years of demonstrated experience working with employers, educators, postsecondary educational institutions, and other key stakeholders
  • Proficient in PC functions and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of cross-sector engagement and workforce development stakeholders including state and local government agencies, community-based organizations, secondary and postsecondary education institutions, and employers
  • HR/employee development or experience with employer-recognized credentials a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to share Chamber work with funders and stakeholders; experience tracking budgets and reporting outcomes is desired but not required
